The movie Laal Singh Chaddha is the official remake of the Oscar-winning American drama Forrest Gump of 1994 and itself an adaptation of Winston Groom’s 1986 novel of the same title.
This film narrates important events in Indian history from the perspective of Lal Singh Chaddha (Aamir Khan), an autistic man with a wide emotional spectrum.
Some of the very notable historical events included in this silver screen representation include the Emergency, 1983 Cricket World Cup, Operation Blue Star, Rath Yatra and the Kargil War of 1999.

Upcoming Bollywood film Laal Singh Chaddha will premiere in theaters on August 11, 2022. Talking about the OTT platform of the film, Paramount Pictures holds the distribution rights. Fans will have to wait longer for the exact OTT release date of the film in September.
When asked about Laal Singh Chaddha’s OTT release, Aamir said not soon. Aamir Khan made it clear that he is in no hurry for the OTT premiere.
Aamir also said, one of the main reasons why the excitement of going to the theaters is low because right after the theatrical release, movies come on OTT very fast. Aamir said that he is not aware of the industry standards but he always tries to keep a gap of 6 months.
According to some reports, Aamir Khan Productions has sold the digital rights of the film to OTT giant Netflix for 160 crores and the film will premiere on the OTT platform in the coming year.

Just before its release in theatres, the film Laal Singh Chaddha got embroiled in controversy and #boycottlalsinghchaddha was trending on Twitter for more than two days.
The boycott trend started when some internet users found an interview of Kiran Rao, ex-wife of Aamir Khan from 2015, in which she said that they move countries because of the growing intolerance in the country. At the same time, some people even believe that Aamir Khan made fun of Hindu deities and traditions from the blockbuster film PK.
Amidst the controversy, Aamir Khan is promoting his film in full swing and in one of his interviews, he said, he is sad that some people who are saying this, in their heart they believe that he is someone who can save India does not like, It’s unfortunate that some people feel that way. that’s not it.
